The Arthur Pass is the one experience that includes travel by three different transportations. Train, car and the exhilarating Jet Boat! Dont miss out on this fabulous day pass! The tour starts early morning departing Christchurch and travelling by road through the rural pastoral scenes of the Canterbury Plains. At Springfield, you will board the train and travel through the Southern Alps to Arthur's Pass viewing magnificent alpine scenery which is said to be one of the greatest train journeys in the world. Arrive at Arthur's Pass and continue by road into the snow-capped Southern Alps. Beyond Arthur's Pass is the breathtaking beauty of the Otira Gorge and magnificent photo opportunities at the Viaduct Lookout. Following lunch at Wobbly Kea Restaurant, there will be time to explore the picturesque mountain village of Arthur's Pass and one of the many bush walks before departing Arthur's pass and returning to Christchurch by road. On the way back enjoy an exhilarating and scenically spectacular jet boat ride through the impressive gorges of the Waimakariri River and then to complete your journey we will be stoppingen route at a sheep farm for a late afternoon tea, followed by a sheep shearing and sheep mustering demonstration.
